Membership Questions answered

Elmscroft is not a pub (which is a profit driven business) and we want to support the community coming together so our prices have been set at a level which we hope will be appreciated by the members. Any surplus from bar sales is used to reinvest in the centre and what we can provide for the community.  Suggestions for new or alternative products at the bar will always be welcome. Decisions on new products are generally made based on minimum wholesale quantities and shelf-life.

Bar Pricelist April 2026

Please note that all payments at the bar are card-only. We cannot accept cash.

Film nights will be monthly on Saturday evenings and will use the 3m (10ft) screen in our main hall with our laser projector. Film dates and titles will be advertised privately to members using a private email list and a private Facebook group. We cannot advertise film titles publicly due to copyright laws (there are ways that we could advertise publicly but the license costs are prohibitive for our small centre).

Elmscroft is not a cinema and as such we will not be able to show the latest releases however we will endeavour to screen popular films across different genres that are suited to the big screen. Whilst we will try to screen films that are likely to be widely appealing, some films will have age ratings and those will be communicated when the films are announced to members.

If you choose to join the private Facebook group for members, you will have the opportunity to suggest films to be shown in the future.

Events change year to year and are on different days and at various times. We will generally open the bar to show live games in the evenings and at weekends when the rooms are available. Not all live games will be shown. A listing of forthcoming dates and games will be shared with members. Games will be screened in the bar and / or in the main hall. In some cases such as with Football when more than one game is played at the same time, it may be possible to screen different games in different rooms.

Once you have joined, you will be added to a private mailing list and will receive updates via email. If you are a Facebook user, you will be invited to join a private member’s group where information will be shared and there will be the opportunity for discussion about member’s events.

Members will receive a discount on entry to events run by the centre for the community such as the popular quiz nights and other one-off events such as live music nights. The discount will be set on a per-event basis but is likely to be in the range of 25 to 33%.

The discounted rate for members will be the same as the discounted rate for regular (repeat) hirers at the centre. As of March 2026, the rates are as follows:

Further information on the rooms is here.

Once you’ve joined using the form on this page, your card will be printed and will be available for collection from the bar on a Saturday evening. Please allow 1 week for your membership to be processed before you collect your card. Please bring some ID with you when you are collecting your card. Cards will not be posted so that we can manage the cost of running the membership scheme. Once you have your card, you will be required to present it when attending a member’s night, making a purchase at the bar or when attending an event where there is a discount for members.

Yes, a member can bring a guest on a one-to-one basis. This means that one member may bring one guest with them. The member will be required to sign their guest in at the bar when they arrive. The guest fee is £3 for any member-only event (Saturday night bar, sports, films etc) and is payable at the bar.

Your membership will automatically renew unless you cancel it. You can cancel the auto-renewal by logging in to the membership area.

If you lose your card, you should email members@elmscroftcentre.org and you will be issued with a new card. Replacement cards will be marked as a replacement. There will be an administration fee of £5 for a replacement card and this will be payable when you collect your replacement card from the bar. Try not to lose your card!

If you have a question that is not answered here, please email members@elmscroftcentre.org and we will respond as soon as possible. You can also use this email to make suggestions for improvements to the membership scheme or to suggest ideas for future members’ events.

We look forward to welcoming you as a member and seeing you at Elmscroft!
